yes of course they mistreated Hakens but as I said before in a way they helped our hero to do the right thing so I think Goodkind made them helped Richard as a purification of their tainted souls....

i'm not sure i really see what you are seeing... tell me more on how you believe this all helped richard to purify their tainted souls... whose souls the anders?

well Anders refused Richard as ruler right??? But with their decision I think they helped Richard a lot to win the war and I think Goodkind wrote their horrible past only to make us see that with their decision about refusing Richard they unconsciously helped him and so IMO Terry make them refuse Richard only to purify their tainted souls (I don't know if you understand my words it's a difficult concept to express)

allora ho detto che penso che Goodkind ci abbia descritto il passato degli ander e degli haken per farci capire come erano malvagi e corrotti solo che dopotutto anche loro in qualche modo hanno aiutato il nostro Richard a vincere la guerra così ho detto che l'hanno aiutato (Goodkind noc ce l'ha detto chiaramente ma secondo me gli ha fatto fare quella scelta per redimere le proprie anime)
